How does a personal chef service from The Dish work?
The Dish will conduct a food preference and kitchen assessment at your home for a nominal fee of $15 to discuss what kinds of food you like to eat, discuss any dietary needs or allergies, and assess your kitchen and pantry for condiments and equipment that will be used. Your weekly menus will then be customized with your specific likes and needs in mind. Each week THE DISH will contact you with a suggested menu for the following week. All confirmations or changes to the suggested menu must be made no later than 3 days prior to the next week's scheduled cooking session. The initial fee of $15 will be refunded at your first scheduled cooking session.
How do I heat food items for ready-made meals?
The Dish will leave you with easy-to-follow heating instructions on all packaged meal items. Ready-made entrées stored in your freezer should be defrosted overnight in your refrigerator and then heated.
Are there additional costs for premium items?
Custom pricing is required for premium, organic and specialty food items.
Do you offer discounts for referrals?
The Dish offers 10% off to new customers with a 2-week minimum commitment and 20% off for existing customers that refer a new customer
How do you accept payment for your personal chef service?
Payment is due in full before or on the date of service. The Dish accepts cash, check and PayPal.
What is your cancellation policy?
A 48-hour cancellation notice is required for all scheduled cooking sessions. Cancellations made within 48 hours will incur a $75 processing fee plus the cost of groceries, if already purchased. PayPal customers will incur an additional 3% on refunds or cancellations.
What is your refundable deposit policy?
A $75 deposit is required to initiate the personal chef service, which will go toward the purchase of your first week's groceries. This deposit will then be refunded at the first scheduled cooking session.
